Join us Wednesday December 15th from 6pm - 7pm for a Furoshiki & Sustainable Gift Wrap Class, hosted by Shoko Yasuda Anderson of beloved, local sustainable brand Suzu Living. Furoshiki are a type of traditional Japanese wrapping cloth that are frequently used to wrap gifts and transport goods. Shoko will offer insights into the history and practices of furoshiki, as well as hands-on techniques for wrapping gifts of different shapes and sizes using her Wrap for Life bags and cloth squares which are widely used in Japanese culture. Participants will leave with their own Wrap for Life bag, as well as the skills to wrap gifts effectively & sustainably “from the heart.” We also encourage participants to bring their own 27" x 27" textile or piece of cloth from home, though fabric will be provided for those who need.
