Foraged & Gathered: A Summer Floral Design Workshop

Sunday 08.23.26, 1PM-3PM

Be Just Classroom, 2415 Ivy Road, Charlottesville VA

Who says meadow flowers can’t make a beautiful arrangement? In this summer workshop, we’ll explore the beauty of loose, gathered blooms...

We welcome you to our Summer Meadow Floral Design Workshop, hosted in the Be Just Classroom at our Ivy Road location. Shawn Cossette, owner and creative director behind Be Just and Beehive Events, will guide guests through creating a naturally styled arrangement inspired by the beauty of summer’s foraged and gathered blooms.

In this workshop, we’ll celebrate the loose, airy charm of meadow flowers and seasonal stems, showing how unexpected blooms can come together in a beautiful and artful way. Shawn will share her approach to creating an arrangement that feels relaxed, organic, and full of movement, while teaching design techniques that are approachable for all skill levels.

Guests will work with a curated selection of seasonal flowers and botanical elements, learning how to combine texture, color, and shape into a finished arrangement that reflects the effortless beauty of summer. At the end of class, you’ll leave with your own completed floral piece and a fresh perspective on the beauty of gathered blooms.

About the Instructor:

Shawn Cossette is the owner and creative visionary behind Be Just and Beehive Events. She has a true talent for creating spaces and floral arrangements that combine what's new with what's familiar, presenting everyday elements in exceptional ways. Shawn's impressive background has its roots in private floral design for A-List celebrities in California, and grown into top-tier floral and event design in Charlottesville and beyond through Beehive Events. Shawn has received recognition for her floral and event design in publications such as Martha Stewart Magazine, Town & Country Magazine, House & Garden Magazine, Brides Magazine and Southern Brides Magazine - to name a few!

"I learned by doing, by seeing, by experiencing. I favor this approach as it lends arrangers to developing their own style and not having their work look like that of others. Flowers are ephemeral, it's only a matter of days or a week before your creation is gone and allows you to begin again."
