HAVAS Blanket

Heta Vajavaara first came up with the HAVAS blanket’s weave through her own personal weave structure library that she keeps.  “I was instantly drawn to the fun rhythm of the design, and how different colours would uplift and highlight certain aspects of it.”

Heta describes HAVAS as a design with a very traditional starting point that is turned interesting with the variations in the yarn colour and groupings. This creates the geometric rhythm seen throughout the pattern.

This lovely wool blanket contains local Finnsheep wool!

MATERIAL

100 % wool – and pleasant warmth. Both the weft and the warp yarn are made from the wool fibres of Finnsheep and Finnsheep crossbreeds, which we have obtained from the local farms in Finland, as well as from certified Wool Integrity NZ fibre. All yarns are spun and dyed in the EU area and are mulesing-free wool.

Preserving and developing the Finnish textile tradition has always been our passion, and we are particularly proud of this material.

CARE

Only wash if textile is very dirty, otherwise take textile outdoors in fresh air for a while. Hand wash at max. 30°C or dry clean. If using powder detergent, dissolve it in plenty of water. Immerse the blanket in the water and wash immediately. Squeeze gently. Do not scrub, stretch or wring out. Rinse thoroughly and squeeze out most of the water. Press the blanket between towels until half-dry and leave it to dry in an airy space. Do not tumble dry. Iron with a damp cloth, max. 150°C.
